Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Koeut Rith met yesterday with Canadian Ambassador Christian Desroches, with one pressing issue topping their agenda: how to dismantle the online scam networks operating in the region.
Koeut Rith briefed the ambassador on Cambodia's recent enforcement efforts and the results achieved so far. He pointed out that cyber fraud is a modern transnational crime that no single country can block on its own, making cross-border coordination essential. Cambodia, he added, remains fully open to international cooperation.
Ambassador Desroches commended the progress Cambodia has made and voiced Canada’s willingness to provide the necessary support and backing. Both sides wrapped up the meeting with an agreement to further deepen judicial cooperation between the two nations.
