On September 19, local authorities from the Russei Keo district unified command raided a house at No. 25B on Street 02B in Mole village, Phnom Penh. Inside, they found nine Bangladeshi nationals who appeared to have been living in the house for quite some time.
A search of the premises turned up six all-in-one desktop computers, 15 mobile phones, and a stack of fake US dollar bills. Around here, rental houses get raided by police all the time, but finding this combination of tech gear and counterfeit cash strongly points to an online scam operation.
The suspects and all seized evidence were taken straight to the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Headquarters. Officers are currently wrapping up the case file to refer the group to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for legal action. It’s a familiar story in the capital's quiet back alleys—a house looks completely ordinary from the outside, and you never really know what’s running behind closed doors until the police show up.
