A late-night motorbike crash on Norodom Boulevard in Phnom Penh's Daun Penh district left a Chinese man dead just after midnight on September 16.
Riding at high speed along the Four Arms Bay commune stretch, the man suddenly lost control of his bike and slammed hard into the concrete curb. The impact was fatal, and he died at the scene.
Authorities cleared the area shortly after the accident. According to local reports, a private vehicle later transported the victim's body to be kept temporarily at the Stung Meanchey pagoda.
Late-night streets like Norodom are wide and mostly empty, making it easy for motorists to speed up and lose control. Even when the road looks clear, unexpected potholes and hazards are everywhere after dark, making lower speeds and extra caution essential.
