According to Hun Manet, after months of rigorous crackdowns, the country has gone from being seen by outsiders as a soft target to an internationally recognized model for anti-fraud efforts. Building on this momentum, Cambodia will host an international conference on combating cyber scams on October 23 and 24, bringing together multilateral bodies including the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Law Enforcement Center.
With security and inspections tightening across the capital, Hun Manet also called on ordinary citizens affected by the operations to show patience as the country works to strengthen the rule of law and secure long-term stability. As news of the upcoming conference spreads, folks sipping tea at roadside stalls are already figuring that life is about to get a whole lot harder for anyone still trying to run shady operations.
