Word is coming out of the Sansha Park in Kayin State—better known to locals as the UK669 compound—that roughly six thousand people are trapped inside. Split into A, B, C, and D zones and guarded at the gates by KNA forces, insiders say the vast majority of the people inside were tricked or trafficked there against their will.
People inside the compound report that companies are not just forcing them to work, but regularly using violence and harsh punishments. Workers are made to carry heavy loads, stand for hours as punishment, or freeze on a scale without moving, with no breaks allowed. Just last month, a Chinese national died inside, and a few days ago, a fight broke out between workers and management, leaving several managers slashed with knives and pushing tensions to a boiling point.
Getting out is nearly impossible. The compound demands massive ransoms, and even when people pay, they still aren't released. Those trapped are desperately reaching out for help, hoping governments, police, and international organizations will step in soon. Walk down the street here and ask locals about these places, and everyone just shakes their head—everyone knows how deep the trouble goes.
