On September 5, a flurry of police activity in Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district led to the raid of an online scam operation and the arrest of six suspects—five Cambodian nationals and one Chinese citizen.

Following days of questioning at the police station, the court issued detention warrants on the morning of September 11. The six suspects were loaded into vans and transferred to Prey Sar Prison, where they will remain while awaiting trial.

Locals zipping by on motorbikes are well used to the gossip, and this isn't the first time a scam den has been busted in the area. With local police keeping a close eye on things lately, any suspicious activity is met with swift, no-nonsense arrests.
