Farmers in Sangkae and Thma Koul have started cutting wet-season rice. Some grain ripened earlier than last year because of the heat.

Land traders in Battambang town said wet-paddy prices remain stable and roughly match last year. Trade is still moving even when rain falls in the evening.

Warehouse owners said old stocks are at a medium level, so buyers are not rushing to push prices down. Exports to Vietnam and Thailand continue through the usual border points.

The provincial agriculture office advised farmers to dry paddy well before selling, to protect quality and price. Technical teams will visit communes with the largest harvest.

Some farmers worry about fuel and harvester rental, but still see this year’s price as acceptable. The province will post a weekly reference price at the paddy market.
