A cement truck heading from Dara Sakor toward the Koh Kong provincial capital flipped completely upside down on National Road 48 on Saturday morning after smashing into the concrete median.

The crash happened at around 9:30 AM near Anlong Va village, between Kilometer Markers 129 and 130. According to traffic police, the heavy truck was speeding down a slope when the driver lost control. The vehicle jackknifed, slammed into the median with a loud crash, and turtled on the asphalt.

Miraculously, the driver managed to crawl out of the wreckage with his life. Provincial traffic police rushed to the scene to direct traffic around the blockage, clear the wreckage, and tow the truck to the station for further legal action.

Investigators pointed out that the truck was heavily overloaded and speeding down the grade. With National Road 48 notorious for its steep inclines and sharp bends, local authorities are once again urging heavy vehicle drivers to slow down, mind their brakes on downhills, and put safety first to ensure they make it home to their families.
