Now, plans are in motion to break ground on a brand-new direct expressway in 2027, cutting straight between the city center and Siem Reap Angkor International Airport.
The main goal is simple: shave off travel time and give the local tourism sector a much-needed boost. After all, nobody wants a long, dusty haul after stepping off a flight—getting tourists into town faster makes the whole experience smoother.
Anyone living and working around here knows the old saying holds true: when the roads open up, business and foot traffic follow. With more vehicles on the streets every day, everyone is hoping this new route gets off the ground soon to make airport runs a whole lot easier.
