Visakha Volleyball Club got off to a rough start in Vietnam yesterday afternoon, dropping their tournament opener 3-1 to the Ho Chi Minh City Police team. The Cambodian side looked a bit out of sync early on, dropping the first set 17-25. They dug deep to take the second 25-23, but couldn't hold on through two tight final sets, eventually falling 25-27 and 22-25.

Visakha is in Vietnam for an invitational tournament running from September 17 to 20. Local media report they will be right back on the court tonight at 7:00 PM against Dong Nai, before gearing up for another tough matchup against Ho Chi Minh City in their third game. After that opening bump in the road, everyone is watching to see if they can fix their mistakes tonight and get a win on the board.

Back home in Cambodia, the match was already a hot topic at neighborhood tea stalls after dinner. Playing away is never easy, and it is pretty normal for players to feel a bit stiff on foreign soil. Local fans will be tuned in tonight, hoping the boys can iron out their teamwork, get their rhythm back, and bring the momentum.
