Around midnight last night, a violent robbery took place on the fifth floor of the Star Bay apartment complex in Sihanoukville. A woman had accepted an invitation to eat at someone’s room, but the moment she walked inside, she realized she had walked straight into a trap. A group of Chinese men in the unit grabbed her immediately, giving her no chance to run.
The victim later told police her attackers were merciless. They bound her hands, blindfolded her, and taped her mouth shut before beating her. They even chopped off her hair during the ordeal. The men finally stopped only after taking roughly $6,000 in cash she was carrying.
Sihanoukville police are investigating the incident. Authorities are currently trying to verify the exact number of suspects, their identities, and the motive behind the attack.
