In Sihanoukville, police nabbed two fake cops. On September 15, officers from the minor crimes unit caught two Cambodian men.
The two, 25-year-old Hom Savy and 40-year-old Thai Ratha, both live in Sihanoukville. They were posing as police officers in a casino, checking foreign tourists' passports, but got caught in the act.
The police seized a mobile phone, a watch, and a red Scoopy motorbike. These two are now at the provincial police station, awaiting further questioning. Locals say such impersonation needs to be dealt with firmly to prevent fake cops from taking over real officers' duties.
