On the night of the 17th, military police in Koh Kong’s Kirisakor district executed a late-night bust in the Dara Sakor area, catching two suspects red-handed in a raid involving illegal drugs and firearms. Both were taken into custody on charges of drug possession, trafficking, and use, along with illegal possession of weapons.
Neither carried a passport. Police identified the suspects as Zhou Yuxing, a 28-year-old Chinese national with no fixed employment locally, and Nguyen Thuy Linh, a 36-year-old Vietnamese woman working as a masseuse. Officers seized illicit drugs and firearms equipment at the scene, putting an abrupt end to the undocumented pair’s illegal side hustle.
Dara Sakor is a vast, sparsely populated stretch along the coast. Once the sea breeze kicks in at night, the street stalls and rental rooms look quiet enough, but dark waters run deep beneath the surface. Local Gendarmerie stated that the case is currently being processed according to legal procedures.
