In Laos on September 12, a major police operation took place in Vientiane's Chanthabuly and Xaysetha districts. Authorities targeted two rental properties suspected of being hubs for online gambling and telecom fraud. They arrested 13 people—12 Chinese nationals and one local.
Local media reported that police seized a significant amount of equipment, including phones, computers, a handgun, bullets, and over a thousand suspected drug pills. It sounds like something out of a movie. These operations were allegedly run from these two locations, showing just how bold these individuals were.
Currently, those arrested are being interrogated, and the investigation is ongoing. People around town are buzzing about it, surprised such activities were happening nearby. It's a reminder to be cautious when renting out properties.
