So, yesterday, the Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey province, along with his team, was back in Poipet for another surprise inspection. They said they were checking for hidden online scam operations, which, as everyone knows, has been a big issue lately.
This time, they hit three spots: Poipet, O'Chrov, and Kbal Spean. They checked a total of five locations and questioned fifty foreigners. Most of them were Thai, forty to be exact, plus seven Indonesians and three Laotians. You see these kinds of checks happening on the streets a lot lately, and everyone knows what it's about.
The results? Out of the fifty, twelve had all their papers in order, but thirty-seven didn't have legal documents. However, they didn't find any online scam operations at the places they checked this time. Honestly, it's so hard to keep these things under control around here, and the police are really working hard.
