Phnom Penh was abuzz last night as Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet sat down with visiting Myanmar leader Min Aung Hlaing for bilateral talks, wrapping up the meeting with the signing of four cooperation documents.
According to local media, the agreements cover an avoidance of double taxation and fiscal evasion pact, an investment promotion and mutual protection agreement, an amendment to the cultural cooperation agreement, and a memorandum of understanding on news and media cooperation.
In short, the two sides are looking to draw closer on trade, investment, culture, and information sharing, putting clear frameworks and rules in place to guide their ties moving forward.
