Local reports say it was on September 9th. The Deputy Governor, the Mayor, and even the Prosecutor themselves led a raid on a place called 'Nobel Hotel' in Bavet City.
On the ground floor, they found pink drugs and all the usual drug paraphernalia. Upstairs on the second floor, things got even more serious. They nabbed six Vietnamese nationals – one woman and five men – who were allegedly running an online scam operation. Of course, they found computers, mobile phones – all the standard gear for these kinds of scams.
But the real shocker? They also uncovered a K59 handgun! Seriously, these guys have some nerve, stashing a gun right there in a hotel. You know, you hear about this kind of stuff happening all the time around here. It feels like there's always some underlying tension, some shady business brewing.
Right now, the suspect with the gun has been sent to the city's Criminal Investigation Department. The other five and all the evidence have been transferred to the Provincial Police's Cybercrime Unit for further questioning. Word is, they've sealed off all the rooms involved in the operation.
Honestly, it feels like these online scam dens are just endless. You wonder how many more rental places are out there, hiding all sorts of illegal activities.
