Word on the street is, there's been another bust in Tachileik, Myanmar. On September 9th, security forces – a mix of military and police – stormed a house in the Wan Kao neighborhood, rounding up a large group of people.
A total of 56 individuals were nabbed, all suspected of being involved in telecom fraud and online gambling. Out of the 56, five were Chinese nationals, with the rest being Myanmar citizens, both men and women.
The operation reportedly kicked off around 4 PM that afternoon, following a tip-off. Inside, officers found a significant setup: 60 computers, 5 WiFi routers, numerous tables and chairs, and two unlicensed motorcycles. All these items were confiscated as evidence. By the looks of it, this was a pretty large-scale operation.
All 56 individuals are now in custody and are undergoing thorough investigation. Once the facts are clear, appropriate action will be taken.
Around here, these scam dens just keep popping up. Seems like every other week you hear about another one getting busted. Folks on the street are saying these scammers have some serious guts, operating right under everyone's noses.
