On October 5, the United Wa State Army (UWSA) announced that 32 Chinese nationals who had entered the region illegally voluntarily registered to return home and were officially transferred to Chinese police via border checkpoints. This follows recent handovers of 46 individuals on September 30 and 63 telecom fraud suspects on September 22.
According to UWSA statistics, 1,449 undocumented Chinese nationals have been repatriated so far this year, while the cumulative total handed over between 2020 and 2026 stands at 88,904. The authorities noted that voluntary return registration channels remain open for undocumented individuals, while urging all future travelers to complete legal entry procedures.
