Local sources say a compound located in Ward 3 near Checkpoint No. 1 is operated by Saw Nyo Lin, also known as Saw Ka Ku, housing roughly 200 cyber-fraud workers. The surrounding area is packed with casinos, KTV lounges, hotels, and massage parlors, alongside alleged open drug sales. Another site known as the Tongda compound is reported to house around 400 individuals.
Insiders claim operators maintain ongoing business by paying monthly fees to local authorities under the guise of regular operations. When inspections loom, scam workers are allegedly shuttled to BGF Battalion 1022 bases in Mae Htaw Thale and Meka Nai. Notably, Major Mote Thone, commander of BGF Military Region 4, was previously issued an arrest warrant by Thai courts over human trafficking allegations.
