According to chat screenshots sent in by a tipster, dozens of gendarmerie and police officers showed up at "DV" (Diwei) in Sihanoukville, blocking both the front and back entrances, and people inside were unable to leave for now. One message in the screenshots reads "we were in there playing and can't get out", while another person said they had just arrived nearby by car and were "scared to death". A photo shared with the tip shows several officers in black uniforms standing guard along an outer wall.
There has been no official statement so far. It is not yet clear whether this is a routine inspection, a special operation or a move targeting specific individuals, and details such as how many officers are on site or whether anyone has been taken away remain unverified.
If you are in Sihanoukville, it is wise to stay away from the area for now, keep your documents on you, and wait for official word.
