On September 14, the United Wa State Army in Myanmar's Shan State released a statement confirming that 30 Chinese citizens who had slipped into the Wa territory without proper documents or permits have been sent back across the border.

According to local authorities, once their identities and violations were verified, the 30 individuals were handed over to the Chinese side right at the border checkpoint without any delay. Locals talking over tea and riding motorbikes around town often chat about these illegal crossings, agreeing that anyone trying it never comes out ahead.

These days, authorities over there are really tightening the screws on border violations and illegal stays. As the official notice stated, all 30 of them have now been escorted back through the port of entry.
