In Bavet City, authorities recently cracked down on an upscale neighborhood to tackle online scams. They searched ten locations and found 48 foreigners involved.
Among them, 29 were Chinese and 19 were Vietnamese. They all had proper passports and visas.
At one villa, they discovered 10 Vietnamese nationals along with phones, computers, and motorbikes. Everything and everyone were taken to the police station for further investigation.
Locals say incidents like this have been happening more often, so people are staying alert.
