Mondulkiri’s public works and transport office said the national road is open again after a late-July washout. Asphalt and shoulder repairs finished yesterday.
The road links the provincial town of Saen Monourom with Kratie and carries farm goods and visitors. While it was closed, heavy trucks had to use slower village tracks.
Freight drivers said the trip from Saen Monourom to Kratie is now about an hour shorter. They asked for warning signs where the shoulder is still soft.
Guesthouse owners in Saen Monourom welcomed the reopening, as guests from Phnom Penh and Kratie have started booking weekend rooms. Vegetable sellers also said goods arrive more on time.
The province asked drivers to slow down on the new surface and not to overload. Maintenance crews will keep watching for cracks through the rest of the rainy season.
