Zhang Ruisheng, the 54-year-old elder brother of Zhang Ruijin, a defendant in the case, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for possessing over 17 million Singapore dollars in criminal proceeds. He also agreed to forfeit his Sentosa luxury mansion and a Toyota Vellfire to the state.
Investigations revealed that in 2020, Zhang Ruisheng used false documents to conceal the origins of the funds, channeling roughly 17.6 million Singapore dollars into his personal account to buy the Sentosa residence and cover property deposits.
His younger brother Zhang Ruijin and sister-in-law Lin Baoying were each sentenced to 15 months in prison for money laundering offenses in 2024. With relatives' assets now being seized as well, asset recovery in the case keeps widening.
