Large pagodas in Phnom Penh are preparing dining halls and parking for Pchum Ben. Monks said people have already started bringing offerings this weekend.

Wat Phnom and Wat Ounalom expect the largest crowds on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors should use marked gates and should not park on main roads.

City Hall will add traffic police around well-known pagodas from 4 to 9 a.m. City buses will have temporary stops near the larger temples.

Vendors selling noodles and festival food at the gates said they stocked more than last week. They asked guests to keep the grounds clean and not leave rubbish inside the pagoda.

Monks advised families to come on their usual day so the main festival days do not become too crowded. Pagodas will offer drinking water and rest tents for older people.
